1. Purpose and Scope
This Data Deletion Policy ("Policy") explains how you can delete your SocialHook account and the personal data associated with it, what happens to your data when you do, and which limited categories of information we are legally required to retain for a defined period. It applies to the SocialHook mobile application, the website at https://socialhook.digitalarena.online, and all related products, features, and services (together, the "Platform").
This Policy implements the account-deletion process summarised in Section 11 of our Privacy Policy and is published to satisfy the account-deletion disclosure requirements of the Google Play Store. It should be read together with our Privacy Policy and our Terms & Conditions, which are incorporated by reference.
2. Who Can Request Deletion
Any registered user who is 18 years of age or older may request deletion of their own account and associated personal data. You may exercise this right yourself from within the app, or by writing to us at socialhook4@gmail.com from the email address linked to your account so that we can verify your identity.
3. How to Delete Your Account In-App
You can delete your account at any time directly from the SocialHook app:
- Open the SocialHook app and sign in to your account.
- Go to Settings.
- Open "Privacy & Your Data".
- Select "Delete My Account".
- Confirm the request when prompted.
Once you confirm, the deletion process described in Section 5 begins. You do not need to contact us separately when you use the in-app path.
4. How to Request Deletion by Email
If you cannot access the app, you may request account deletion by emailing socialhook4@gmail.com from the email address registered to your account, with the subject line "Delete My Account". We may ask you to verify your identity before we act on the request. Once verified, we process the request following the same deletion process described in Section 5.
5. What Happens When You Delete Your Account
When you delete your account, we carry out the following steps, consistent with Section 11 of our Privacy Policy:
- Hide your profile and content, and revoke access tokens promptly, so your profile and content are no longer visible to other users and active sessions are ended.
- Delete ephemeral content (for example, stories) immediately.
- Delete or anonymise your content and messages. Some content may be anonymised rather than removed where necessary to preserve the integrity of shared threads and the social graph.
- Move a legally-required subset into a restricted archive. A limited subset of information (identity, IP/log, transaction, and moderation/security records) is moved into a restricted, access-controlled archive for 180 days to meet due-diligence and investigation obligations under the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021 ("IT Rules 2021").
- Purge remaining personal data after the restricted-archive period, except for financial records retained for the statutory period described in Section 6.
We may notify you when deletion and the final purge are complete.
6. Data We Are Required to Retain
Some information cannot be deleted immediately because we are legally required to keep it for a defined period, even after your account is deleted:

After each applicable period expires, the corresponding data is deleted, anonymised, or aggregated in accordance with our retention schedule.
7. Deletion Timeline
- Immediate: your profile and content are hidden, access tokens are revoked, and ephemeral content is deleted as soon as you confirm the request.
- Within the restricted-archive window: your content and messages are deleted or anonymised; a legally-required subset is held in a restricted archive for 180 days.
- After 180 days: the restricted archive is purged, except for financial records retained for the statutory period described in Section 6.
8. Effect of Deletion
Deleting your account is permanent and cannot be undone. After deletion you will lose access to your profile, content, messages, followers/following, and any unredeemed virtual coins or in-app balances, subject to the Terms & Conditions. Creator earnings and payouts are governed by the Terms & Conditions and remain subject to the financial-records retention described in Section 6.

In accordance with the IT Act, the IT Rules 2021, and the DPDP Act, the Grievance Officer will acknowledge every request within 24 hours of receipt and resolve it within the timelines required by applicable law.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may amend this Policy from time to time. Each published version carries a version identifier and a last-updated date, and prior versions are retained. Where changes are material, or where required by law, we will notify you within the Platform.
